A new Sanders campaign television ad set to air in states that vote on March 10 and 17 highlights Joe Biden’s advocacy for cutting social security.
The ad begins with an audio snippet of Biden explaining how he tried to cut social security, including Medicare and Medicaid.
“When I argued if we should freeze federal spending, I meant Social Security as well. I meant Medicare and Medicaid. I meant veterans’ benefits. I meant every single solitary thing in the government,” Biden says.
“And I not only tried it once. I tried it twice. I tried it a third time. And I tried it a fourth time.”
The ad then cuts to vision of Sanders, addressing supporters at a campaign rally.
“Well, we’ve got some bad news for them. We are not gonna cut Social Security. We are gonna expand benefits,” the Vermont Senator says.
The ad is one of three the campaign is putting on the air in Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio and Washington, states set to vote on March 10 and 17.
