The first national poll taken after the Iowa caucuses shows Bernie Sanders surging to first place with an eight point lead over Joe Biden.
Overall, 25 percent of likely voters said they supported Bernie Sanders, an increase of four points since the end of January. 17 percent said they would vote for Joe Biden, a nine point drop since the last survey.
Meanwhile, Michael Bloomberg has benefited from Biden’s fall, with 15 percent saying they support the businessman and former New York mayor. Elizabeth Warren held steady at 14 percent, while Pete Buttigieg scored a small four point bump to 10 percent.
The poll also found Sanders to be the strongest candidate in the field, barring Michael Bloomberg, to take on Donald Trump in the general election in November.
In a head to head match up against the president, Sanders wins 51 percent to Trump’s 43 percent.
The Quinnipiac poll of 665 Democrats and Democratic-leaning voters was conducted from February 5 to 9.
