With the issue of the Supreme Court and protecting Roe v Wade from conservative anti choice efforts having featured prominently at last night’s debate, Bernie Sanders further voiced his support for abortion rights at the New Hampshire Our Rights Our Courts Presidential Forum in Concord on Saturday night.

At the event, co-sponsored by women’s rights groups Demand Justice Initiative, Center for Reproductive Rights, and NARAL Pro-Choice America, Sanders spoke out on abortion rights. “It is women who have the right to control their own bodies, not the government,” Sanders said, before going on to condemn anti choice members of the party, saying “being pro-choice is an essential part of being a Democrat.”

The forum was also attended by all of the other leading candidates except for former Vice President Joe Biden, who has seemingly failed to get a lift after his lacklustre debate performance and continues to flail in the polls. Sanders meanwhile continues to be the frontrunner, holding off a surging Pete Buttigieg.

The event continued a busy weekend for Sanders, who at time of writing had just wound up a packed event in Merrimack. He also addressed packed town hall in Rochester before going on to a get out the vote canvas in Concord, with another busy day planned for tomorrow culminating in a rally in Keene.
