Embittered Hillary Clinton again lashes out at Bernie Sanders

Failed nominee and establishment figurehead Hillary Clinton has again lashed out at Bernie Sanders, telling talk show host Ellen DeGeneres that his “failure to deliver the moon” could further public distrust in politics.

“We need to rebuild trust in our fellow Americans and in our institutions, and if you promise the moon and you can’t deliver the moon, then that’s going to be one more indicator of how, you know, we just can’t trust each other,” said Clinton of the Vermont Senator.

Sanders has repeatedly polled as the most trustworthy candidate in the Democratic field by a sizable margin, and is also consistently rated as one of the top candidates in head to head matchups against President Trump.

This followed earlier criticism from Clinton, who lost the 2016 election after losing 6 states and Maine’s 2nd district that were won by Barack Obama in 2012 of Sanders as someone who “nobody liked”, as well as criticising Sanders, who did over 40 events for her in 2016 for being slow to endorse her. She herself delayed endorsing President Obama for as long as possible in 2008.

The remarks seem reflective of increasing levels of desperation amongst the Democratic establishment that Sanders will win the nomination, and perhaps in some quarters the fact that he may end up in the White House, hurting some of their big donors who have spent up big to ensure more corporate friendly policy in the past.
