Sanders remains in front in California

A new poll from the University of Southern California shows Bernie Sanders leading the Democratic field in the Golden State.

The survey showed Sanders with 28 percent support among California voters who said they planned to vote in the Democratic primary. Joe Biden followed in second place with 24 percent.

Elizabeth Warren polled a distant third, netting 12 percent support, while Pete Buttigieg came in at just 8 percent.

California will hold its nominating contest on Super Tuesday, which takes place on March 3. 495 delegates are up for grabs in the state.

The USC Rossier poll of 2000 California Democrats was conducted from January 3 through January 10. The margin of error is 2.19 percentage points.
