Bernie Sanders will hold two concerts in the Hawkeye State before the Iowa caucuses, headlined by Bon Iver and Vampire Weekend.

At each concert, Sen. Sanders will speak to an audience of supporters and caucusgoers, with a VIP section reserved for volunteers who have knocked over 150 doors in Iowa.

On Friday 31 January, Bon Iver will perform at the Horizon Events Center in Clive, Iowa.

“I believe, unequivocally, that all people deserve support, love, and the freedom to choose how to live their own lives,” said Justin Vernon of Bon Iver.

“There are promises in our constitutional language that are being superseded by money and greed in this country; I believe that Senator Sanders is the only one that has the pedigree, the experience, the courage, and the undying spirit to begin to put these obstacles of freedom to rest.”

In Cedar Rapids, Vampire Weekend will play an acoustic concert at the U.S. Cellular Center on Saturday 1 February.

The Iowa caucuses will be held on Monday 3 February. Recent polling shows Sanders in a strong position in the state.
