Ilhan Omar joins Sanders for largest New Hampshire rally so far

Representative Ilhan Omar joined Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in New Hampshire on Friday for what is the largest rally in the Granite State so far this primary season.

Addressing the crowd of more than 1300 in Nashua, Omar shot down suggestions that the Vermont Senator’s policies are radical.

“Being radical means you believe in the idea that politics can be a vehicle of bringing joy into people’s lives,” Omar said.

Following Omar’s remarks, Sanders praised the Minnesota representative, who is often the subject of attacks from President Trump.

“She has stood up to some of the most ugly racism ever thrown at a member of the United States Congress,” Sanders said.

New analysis published by the New York Times shows Bernie Sanders ahead of Democratic rivals for individual donors.

Sanders is believed to have 746,000 individual donors, nearly double that of his nearest rival, Senator Elizabeth Warren, who has received donations from 421,000 individuals.

South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is a close third, with 390,000 individual donors. Rivals Kamala Harris, Joe Biden and Beto O’Rourke all have less than 300,000 individual donors.

Sanders’ small-donor strategy is paying off, with the Vermont Senator outraising all of his opponents. His campaign has so far raised $36 million. Buttigieg, who is still polling in single digits nationally, has raised $32 million.

Senators Warren and Harris have each raised roughly $25 million to date, with Former Vice President Joe Biden playing catch-up with just $22 million raised.

The New York Times estimate that Sanders has raised an average of $46 from each individual donor.
