Poll shows Sanders leading with voters of all ethnicities

A Morning Consult poll released this week shows Bernie Sanders leading nationally among black, white, Hispanic and Asian American voters.

Overall, Sanders leads nationally among likely Democratic primary voters, with 32 percent of the vote. Joe Biden and Michael Bloomberg follow with 19 percent and 18 percent support respectively.

The survey shows Sanders leading with voters of all races.

Sanders wins the support of 30 percent of white voters, with an 12 percent lead over a second-placed Bloomberg.

Among black voters, a group which favored Biden until recently, Sanders wins 35 percent support. Biden’s support has tumbled to 30 percent.

Sanders has the strongest lead with Hispanic voters, winning 45 percent support with the group. Bloomberg is a distant second, trailing the Vermont Senator by 25 points.

Among Asian American voters, Sanders has 34 percent support, leading Bloomberg by 13 points. Sanders also leads with voters of other races, with 50 percent support.

The survey of more than 13,000 Democratic primary voters was conducted between February 23 and 27.
