Sanders beats Trump in Fox News poll

In a general election head to head matchup, Bernie Sanders defeats Donald Trump by seven points in a Fox News poll released on Friday.

Bernie Sanders won 49 percent support to Donald Trump’s 42 percent in the poll, giving the Vermont Senator a seven point lead over the president.

Among likely Democratic primary voters, Sanders holds a nine point lead over the field nationally. 31 percent say Sanders is their first choice, while Joe Biden remains in second place with 18 percent support.

Michael Bloomberg follows in third with 16 percent support, while Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren follow with 12 percent and 10 percent support respectively.

Among Democrats, 65 percent thing that Sanders can defeat Donald Trump in November, while just 56 percent said the same for Joe Biden.

The Fox News survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted between February 23 and 26. The Democratic primary poll was of 507 likely voters was conducted in the same period.
