Bernie Sanders is miles ahead of former vice president Joe Biden in New Hampshire, according to an Emerson College poll released Sunday night.
Overall, 29 percent of Democratic primary voters in the Granite State said they would vote for Sanders. Biden finished a distant second, with just 14 percent support.
Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren are in a statistical tie for third place, with 13 and 12 percent of voters saying they would be their respective first choice. No other candidates polled in the double digits.
Sanders was most popular with voters aged between 18 to 49 years old, courting 38 percent of that age group, while Joe Biden led among voters aged over 50 years.
Looking at gender, Sanders performs 11 percent better among women than he does men.
In a remarkable shift from previous Emerson College polls, in addition to leading among voters who identify as liberal, Sanders is also the first choice among voters who say they are moderate or conservative.
Interestomgly, 13 percent of respondents to the poll said the results of the Iowa caucuses on Monday night will impact who they vote for in their state’s primary.
The survey of 500 Democratic primary voters was conducted between January 31 and February 2. New Hampshire voters will go to the polls on February 11.
