The actor, best known for his roles in Orange is the New Black and How to Get Away with Murder, announced his endorsement of Bernie Sanders in a new video released on Friday.
In the video, McGorry cites the Vermont Senator’s consistency over the years in the fight for racial, social and economic justice.
“He was there doing the work and standing up for civil rights and for the rights of all different marginalized folks for years, for decades, before I was born,” McGorry says in the video.
“Justice for some is not justice at all. I believe that Bernie understands that and that’s why I’m proud to stand behind him.”
McGorry’s endorsement comes on the same day as New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced his endorsement of Sanders.
