If a general election was held today, Bernie Sanders would defeat every top GOP candidate, according to a new poll.
According to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday, Sanders defeats Donald Trump, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz in a hypothetical general election matchup.
The poll slams any claims that the independent Senator from Vermont is unelectable. He generally performs better against Republicans than his rival for the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton.
Despite the findings, American voters still believe Hillary Clinton would have a better chance against Republicans in a general election.
Senator Sanders gets the best rating for honesty grades among the candidates on both sides. That won’t come as a surprise to Sanders supporters, though.
