Bernie Sanders wins Michigan primary

Defying all expectations and forecasts, Bernie Sanders has won big in Michigan.

The Associated Press and NBC News have now projected Bernie Sanders will win the Democratic primary in the state of Michigan.

Respected political analysis website FiveThirtyEight put Sanders’ chances of winning Michigan at just one per cent. Just yesterday, a poll in Michigan put Clinton ahead by a whopping 27 points.

FiveThirtyEight projected Sanders would win just 37.5 per cent of the vote in Michigan.

Nonetheless, Sanders has pulled off an upset victory in Michigan, defeating Clinton by around two per cent. He won roughly 50 per cent of the vote.
