Grassroots support and high voter turnout fueled wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, Bernie Sanders said in a statement on Wednesday.
“I want to thank the many thousands of volunteers and grassroots activists who propelled us to victory in Iowa and New Hampshire,” the Vermont Senator said.
“This is the multi-racial, multi-generational coalition that will enable us to win in Nevada, South Carolina and to do extremely well on Super Tuesday. This is the coalition that will help us win the Democratic nomination and defeat Donald Trump, the most dangerous president in modern American history.”
“Our campaign is successfully expanding the Democratic base. The New Hampshire primary had, it appears, the highest turnout of any New Hampshire primary in history. In Iowa, the voter turnout for young people under 29 increased by 33%.”

New Hampshire exit polling reveals Sanders’ support in the state cut across demographics, with the Vermont Senator winning support from young people, non white voters, those on low incomes and coming from union households.
