Sanders picks up three more superdelegates

Three Democratic superdelegates from Sanders’ home state of Vermont have announced that they will side with him.

Secretary of State Jim Condos said Sanders’ strong support in Vermont’s primary ensured his support for the presidential candidate. ““It’s unprecedented for a candidate to win their own state by such an immense margin,” he said.

Dottie Deans, the chairwoman of the Vermont Democratic Party has also thrown her support behind Sanders.

Essex Representative Tim Jerman said his superdelegate vote will go to Sanders, and says he plans to push for reforms to the contentious superdelegate system.

“There were good reasons for the rules as they are, but I think the popular perception is there’s a group of establishment people that are somehow putting their hand on the scale, and I think that’s an unfortunate perception.”
