Sanders builds lead in Super Tuesday states

A new Morning Consult poll released on Tuesday shows Bernie Sanders leading the field by seven points in Super Tuesday states.

Among voters in the fourteen Super Tuesday Standers, 27 percent said they support Bernie Sanders, up two points on last week’s result. Joe Biden, meanwhile has taken a seven point hit, and now holds just 20 percent support.

Michael Bloomberg has moved into third place, with 16 percent, while Elizabeth warren is now the first choice of 11 percent of Super Tuesday voters. Pete Buttigieg has built his position by five points to 10 percent support.

The fourteen states to vote on Super Tuesday, all represented in this survey, are Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.

The survey of more than 5,000 Democratic primary voters was conducted between February 4 and 9.

A national poll, conducted by Monmouth University, also released Tuesday, shows Bernie Sanders surging to a ten point lead over Joe Biden.
