Sanders scores second congressional endorsement

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has scored an endorsement from Keith Ellison, the second from a member of congress.

Ellison represents Minnesota’s 5th district in the United States House of Representatives, and co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

“I am happy to support my friend and colleague Senator Bernie Sanders in his candidacy for president,” Representative Ellison said in a statement.

“For decades, Bernie has demonstrated a willingness to push for progressive ideas that will help American families and restore balance to our economy, which has favored the millionaires and billionaires for way too long.”

The endorsement is the second from a member of congress, after Arizona’s Raul Grijalva endorsed Senator Sanders last week.
