In a general election match-ups against Republican contenders in Connecticut, Bernie Sanders performs better than Hillary Clinton.

The poll, conducted by Quinnipiac, showed that Bernie Sanders holds greater leads over Republicans in general election match-ups than Hillary Clinton in the state of Connecticut.

Against business tycoon Donald Trump, Sanders has a 9 point lead, while Clinton leads by just 7 points.

In a match-up against former HP CEO Carly Fiorina, Sanders and Clinton are tied. The poll shows them both with a 5 point lead over the former businesswoman.

In a contest against neurosurgeon Ben Carson, Sanders holds a 3 point lead, while Clinton has a tighter 2 point lead.
