Is Bernie Sanders electable in a general?

Many people are making the argument that Senator Bernie Sanders could not possibly win a general election if he became the Democratic nominee.

It’s simply unfounded. According to the latest head to head Quinnipiac poll, Bernie Sanders beats every GOP candidate by larger margins than Hillary Clinton in a hypothetical general election match-up.

He defeats Trump and Rubio by six points, Cruz by ten points, and Kasich by four points. The poll found that Clinton would lose to all Republican candidates but Donald Trump, who she is ahead of by a small one point margin.
