Sanders wins GOP debate on Twitter

Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders made huge gains on the social networking site during the CNN Republican presidential debate.

Bernie Sanders gained roughly 50,000 new Twitter followers after he live-tweeted the Republican presidential debate, hosted by Jake Tapper on CNN on Wednesday night.

That’s double what the leading Republicans picked up on Twitter in the same period. Following the debate, Carly Fiorina had attracted 26,000 new followers, while Ben Carson saw 25,000 new followers.

Republican frontrunner and businessman Donald Trump saw his Twitter following increase by 14,000 over the period of the debate.

If the Twitter following is anything to go by about who won this debate, the result is very clear.
